AILA  – New York Chapter Liaison Updates from NY CBP & USCIS

1.0 Professional Practice CLE credit will be offered for this program.   The CLE for this program is both transitional (suitable for newly admitted attorneys) and nontransitional (suitable for experienced attorneys), or appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.  To receive CLE credit, you must arrive by the start of the program and remain throughout the program (no exceptions).  We strongly encourage you to arrive early.  You must sign in at the table before entering the program and sign out when the program ends.  Attendees who arrive after the program starts or who leave prior to its end will not receive CLE credits, no exceptions.

The program is free for those who are AILA New York Chapter members.  The cost for non-AILA Chapter members is $75 – payable via cash or check. CLE Agenda

6:00 – 6:30 PM – Presentation of Awards to the 5th Grade Essay Contest Winners by the NY Chapter & NY Chapter Pro Bono Awards.  The winning essays will be read aloud.  Local chapter election results will be announced by the New York Chapter President.

6:30 – 6:40 PM – Panel Introduction.

  • AILA Panelists: Alexis Axelrad, National CBP Liaison Co-Chair, Lindsey Gauzza, Co-Chair of the USCIS Liaison Committee
  • CBP Panelist: Louis Carducci, Jr., Assistant Director, Field Operations, Border Security, New York Field Office

6:40 – 7:30 PM – (Alexis Axelrad & Louis Carducci, Jr.): CBP Panelist will address previously submitted questions from the NY Chapter of AILA, covering the following issues:

  • Local Office Update
  • Credible Feat Interviews
  • Global Entry
  • Travel Records

7:30 – 7:50 PM – (Lindsey Gauzza): General update about local USCIS procedures and liaison

  • Current State of Liaison
  • Local Office updates- InfoPass Modernization
  • Best practices in the current environment

7:50 – 8:00 PM – General local CBP & USCIS office questions from audience members to be answered by panelists.
